Simone Biles was born in 1997 in Columbus, Ohio, and raised by her grandparents Ron and Nellie in Spring, Texas. She discovered gymnastics on a day-care field trip at the age of six, and coaches quickly noticed her talent.

A record-breaking career

Biles won four gold medals at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and has collected more World Championship medals than any other gymnast. Several elements in the official code of points carry her name because she was the first to perform them in international competition.
